Kenton School is at the cutting edge of modern education. With just under 1800 students, we are amongst the largest schools in the North East. However, despite our size we pride ourselves on retaining a family atmosphere and in ensuring that we cater for the needs of all our students, recognising their special gifts or talents.
We are seeking applications to join our Learning Support team working with individual students or small groups with a wide range of special educational needs. Working with teachers and team leaders, the role involves designing and delivering interventions and in-class support to help students access their lessons and embed their learning.
We are looking for candidates with previous experience working with children and/or young people, preferably within an education setting, combined with a minimum of a level 3 qualification (A-Level) in a National Curriculum subject. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs or social, emotional and mental health issues would be advantage.
If you have commitment, interpersonal skills and resilience to motivate, challenge and inspire students to achieve their potential regardless of the barriers they face, we want to hear from you. In return we offer fantastic developmental possibilities due to our size, facilities and a forward thinking management and staff working together to offer the best available chances for our students.
