Kenton Schools Academy Trust incorporates both Kenton School and Studio West School. With just under 1800 students, Kenton School is amongst the largest schools in the North East. However, despite our size, we pride ourselves on retaining a family atmosphere and in ensuring that we cater for the needs of all our students, delivering outstanding teaching and learning so knowledge is embedded and recognising every students’ special gifts or talents and ensuring that disadvantage is not a barrier.
At Studio West, in addition to mainstream qualifications, we offer an innovative and personalised curriculum for every student focused on developing key employability and life skills required by employers. Our mission it to make sure that every student who leaves Studio West does so with a university or college place, an apprenticeship or a job.
We are currently seeking teachers of Computer Science to work either on a full time basis across both our schools or a part-time basis based in either school. This is an exciting opportunity with the successful candidate having the opportunity to play a part in developing a cohesive approach to Computer Science across our Trust.
If you are the person we are looking for, you will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a proven track record of effective delivery of Computer Science across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, supported by strong student outcomes. You will possess the ability to promote professional programming standards and a better understanding of the real world application of the Computer Science curriculum.
You will be an experienced computing professional with a comprehensive portfolio of recent projects in an Object Orientated Programming language combined with the ability to clearly explain complex programming concepts/approaches to groups of students, a clear understanding of the current issues faced by the computing industry and demonstrable experience of the full software development cycle.
But most importantly, you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create and deliver engaging materials for students of different abilities and be committed to the values and ethos of our Trust.
