Vacancy: Technician (PE and Technology)

June 28, 2018

37 hours per week, term time plus 5 training days

Salary: £15,296 pa to £16,551 pa

Required for September 2018

Kenton School is at the cutting edge of modern education. With just over 1800 students, we are one of the largest schools in the North East. However, despite our size we pride ourselves on retaining a family atmosphere and in ensuring that we cater for the needs of all our students, recognising their special gifts or talents.

We are seeking applications for the post of Technician to support our team in the setting up and dismantling of equipment and resources, ordering stocks and supplies and maintaining our databases.

We are seeking candidates with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with both children and adults. A knowledge of health and safety with the ability to carry out risk assessments is essential.

Whilst the role will involve working across all teaching departments, a large proportion of working time will be spent supporting PE and Technology therefore a relevant qualification and/or experience working in either discipline would be desirable.

Post holders will be required to move, set up and dismantle large sports equipment on a regular basis, i.e. full size trampolines and gymnastics equipment, therefore candidates must be able to fulfil this requirement of the role. The successful applicant will be required to use their initiative to keep their areas of responsibility running smoothly.
